Creative Movement- The encouragement of children to explore this movement using music encourages the development of physical skills, channeling energy in a healthy way and nurtures their creativity.
Ballet/Tap- Ballet/Tap is a combo class which consists of a half hour of ballet as well as a half hour of tap. The students in each class will learn ballet-based and tap-based terminology along with basic level techniques fit to the age of the class.
Ballet- Class will focus on basic ballet technique, proper body alignment, French terminology and musicality. Students will be introduced to barre and center work. Attention is paid to the proper extension of the legs and shape of the feet, developing movement sequences, body alignment, muscle awareness, port de bras and balance. This class will focus on positions of the arms, direction of the body and increased movement vocabulary.
Contemporary- Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres, including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.Contemporary dance stresses versatility and improvisation.
Jazz- Jazz dance is a performance dance and style that arose in the United States in the mid 20th century. Styles of Jazz from Funk, Musical Theatre, Blues, and Broadway.
Tap- Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. We incorporate many styles of tap including rhythm, Broadway and contemporary tap. This is a great workout while learning cool moves and syncopation with your feet.
Hip Hop- Our Hip Hop classes teach rhythm, coordination, musicality and choreography with age-appropriate music and movements. Students are challenged to think on their feet while enjoying an energetic and fast-paced dance class. Our Hip Hop dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun.
Acro-Cartwheels, Round offs, Back Hand Springs and Aerials are just a few of the exciting tricks you will learn in this acro class. You can even show case your skills in a dance routine.
Belly Dance- Belly dance is a dance style that has its origins in Middle Eastern countries. It features movements of the hips and torso and body isolations. Bellydancing is a low-impact exercise that could help people lose weight, tone muscles, improve their posture, and relax.
